MEMBER of Legislative Council (MLC) Shobhatai Fadnavis, on Wednesday, staged thiyya agitation and stalled collection of taxes at Tadali toll booth. She demanded to stop the collection of taxes at Tadali booth permanently from  people.

Chandrapur has four flyovers constructed with the cost of Rs 32 crore and the toll tax is being collected fromChandrapurianssince lOyears. Maharashtra         State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is still collecting toll taxes from Chandrapurians despite recovering tender cost. However, the MSRDC had collected over Rs 69 crore of taxes at Tadali toll booth run by Sahakar Global Limited. a Mumbai-based firm. And. MSRDC is looting the general public of Chandrapur by collecting taxes at the booth. It is totally injustice with the Chandrapurians, she stated during the agitation.

"I visited the loll booth and found some printed receipts which were totally bogus. The booth officials are issuing the receipts without any seal on them. Moreover, the officials are issuing 20 per cent receipts through computer and remaining in printed form. I have issued notice to said company why criminal action should not be taken against them." claimed Shohhalai Fadnavis. Further. she claimed that around 10 times of taxes have already been collected from Chandrapuriansagainst the tender cost, she alleged. Meanwhile. Naresh Puglia. senior Congress leader,   visited   the   pendal   on Wednesday.
