Bhatarkar on indefinite hunger stir

AGGRIEVED with (he mismanagement of the Gondwana University. Gadchiroli that has been causing educational loss of the students studying in the university. Nitin Bhatarkar. District President of Nationalist Students' Congress launched indefinite hunger strike before the District Collectorate from August 18. 2014. Speaking on the occasion. Bhatarkar informed that though the students of Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts had never demanded for a separate university in Gadchiroli. the Government granted new university in the form of Gondwana University in Gadchiroli but when the issue of qualitative education is raised, it has been seen that the Government as well as Administration arc indifferent towards it. With the formation of new university, various changes in the existing rules were made. For getting admission in the Gondwana University, the students have been compelled to attach Migration Certificate for which they have to make frequent rounds to Nagpur University to receive the certificate causing them mental, physical and economical stress. And in this way the university started the students' economical loot. Apart from this, another noteworthy thing is that the university had changed the syllabus but surprisingly enough it did not take it as its responsibility to facilitate the students with the availability of me related books. Bliatarkar rued.

There is not a single university may in the entire world that has charged Rs 5000 late fees per day. stated Bhatarkar. There is no proper facility of Server and Internet, but t!ie university made almost all correspondences, communications and transactions online and it is compulsory. Due to mismanagement of ihe university, as many as 500 students have been failed in their respective examinations. The examination fee for Engineering is Rs 2300. No university in the state collects such a huge amount in the mime of examination fees, Bhatarkar claimed.

The most crucial issue regarding the Gondwana University is that the post of the Vice-Chancellor, who may take responsibility of the students' problems, has been lying vacant since last six months and the Government is still pretending to be deep slumber. Nitin Bhatarkar condemned.

Therefore taking serious consideration of the said problems. Nitin Bhatarkar. being District President of the Nationalist Students' Congress has launched a sat indefinite hunger strike in front of the District Collcctorate on Aug 18.
