SDO calls upon voters to complete registration by 25th

THE district administration has

impelememed SVEEP programme in Amravati and Badnera Assembly consiiiuencics for registration of voters. Last date for registration for the upcoming Assembly election is August 25, informed PravinThakare. Sub-Divisional Officer and Election Officer of Amravati Assembly xon-stituency. He was addressing a press conference here.

Thakare further informed that administration is implementing SVEEP (Systematic Voters" Education and Electoral Participation) programme as per the instructions of election commission. A special electoral roll revision programme from June 9 to 30 was implemented in Amravati and Badnera constituencies. Administration has even contacted 708 out of the 1.136 persons who have registered their complaints during Parliamentary polls. Out of 1.136 complainants only 708 had given their phone numbers and administration has asked them to fill the No 6 form for registering their names in the voters lists. Only 151 complainants have filled their forms till the date, informed Thakare.

Thakare has appealed youths who have compelled 18 years of age on January 1. 2014 to enrol themselves in the voters list till August 25.2014. He also appealed girls who have shifted out of the constituency due to marriage to register their names in the new coastituency by filling appropriate forms at their respective voting centres or at tehsil office till August 25. Informing further. Thakare said that Amravati Assembly constituency has a total of 2,68.014 voters while 93.42 percent of them photo ID proof. Total 12.379 new voters have registered their names during the special electoral roll revision programme conducted in between June 9 and June 30.

S V Shirsuddhe. Deputy District Collector and Election Officer from Badnera Assembly constituency, informed that total 8.408 new voters including 4.570 males and 3.838 females were registered during the Electoral Roll Revision Programme organised at Badnera Assembly Constituency. Miirsuddhe and Inakare have appealed ihe new voters to register their names till August 25 by submitting appropriate application forms.

Ajitkumar Yede. Tehsildar of Bhaikuli and also the Assistant Election Officer from Badnera was also present in the press conference.
