Stage set for restructuring of sub divisions in Washim district

THE issue of formation of additional sub division of Revenue Department in Washim has come up again after the the notification issued by the Government recently. Maintaining status quo in respect of the sub division in Washim. Government has issued notification for formation of the new sub division in Karanja. Suggestions and objections in respect of the formation can be filed by August 21.2014.

As per the notification issued earlier, subdivisions were proposed for Washim-Risod. Mangrulpir-Malega-inclusion of Malegaon tehsil in Mangrulpir sub division. Taking the opposition imo consideration the proposed formation of new sub division in Washim district was set aside. As per the notification issued in June 2012. the new sub divisions proposed in other districts of the slate came into existence except for Washim district.

As per the notification issued recently, the restructuring of new sub divisions in Washim district would be as follows: (1) Washim. Risod. Malegaon (2) Mangrulpir and (3) Karanja-Manora.

Presently. Washim district has only two subdivisions viz. Washim. Risod. Malegaon and Mangrulpir. Karanja. Manora and their head quarters ai Wa*him and Mangrulpir respectively. While restructuring Mangrulpir sub division will remain intact with only one lehsil while a new subdivision at Karanja will come into effect which will comprise Karanja and Manora lehsils.

Suggest ions and objections, if any, can be filed before the Divisional Commissioner by August. In case of no suggestions and objections by the given date, the Government may proceed further for creation of new sub divisions accordingly.

There is every likelihood that some people and elected representatives will raise voice against the formation of new sub divisions. It will have to be seen than as to how the Governments handles the opposition.
