Unprecedented security cover for Modi's rally
AN unprecedented security blanket has been thrown in the city for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public programme at historic Kasturchand Park on Thursday. More than 4200 police personnel, including officers, have been deployed in the bandobast. Commissioner of Police K K Pathak and Joint Commissioner of Police Anup Kumar Singh are constantly monitoring the security arrangements.
City Police held Advance Security Liaison (ASL) meeting with top Special Protection Group (SPG) officers. The SPG officers conducted a security drill with Cily Police officers thai included anti-sabolage checking, sanitising the venue in advance. The SPG officers also ensured installation of door frame metal detectors at each of the entry point of the venue. Similarly, they also ensured multi-layered frisking of every visitor with hand-held metal detectors.
These SPG officers along with their Central Intelligence counterparts and City Police also conducted a rehearsal on the route from where the Prime Minister's cavalcade is to pass.
All vehicles entering into the city are being checked thoroughly since last night. Cops have undertaken a massive search operations at all hotels, motels, lodges and slums,
Police have intensified patrolling in all sensitive areas. Officers and men from Central and State Intelligence agencies are maintaining a strict vigil at vital install tions including Railway Station and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. Special Branch personnel have been deployed in civil dress to maintain vigil on suspicious persons.
In view of threat perception by ami-national elements. Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has also been put to alert. Quick Response Teams (QTRs). Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad (BDDS) and com-paniesof State Reserve Police Force have been deployed in the bandohast.
Security in and around the headquarters of Rashtriya Swayamse vak Sangh(RSS), Mahal, and Hedgewar Smruti Mandir. Reshimbagh has been tightened.
The security agencies are also using private vehicles for maintaining a strict vigil. Senior officials briefed police personnel about the bandohast.
Persons attending Prime Minister's programme at Kastuirchand Park will not be allowed to carry water botdes. pouches, match boxes, cigarette lighters and inflammable substances.
