A 60- YEAR-OLD woman who conceived in 1978, never delivered the baby which was dead. The doctors at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital had told her that it needed to he removed. She went absconding and the foetus remained in her body. Now, she suddenly suffered some pain and brought to NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences where, during diagnostic icsis. the baby skeleton was delected in abdomen, and it was removed by a team of doctors.
A 60-year-old lady from MP. came to surgical Out Patient Department (OPD) of Lata Mangeshkar Hospital. Hingna with a mass in her abdomen since last 2 months. After in vestigatioas ii was found that she was having a mass containing a matured foetal bones encapsulated in a calcified sac. After obtaining detailed history her brother told that in 1978 she was full term pregnant and had some complications for which she was relerred GO Mayuor IGGMCM where doctors told that foetus might have died and she has to undergo an operation. But due to some reasons they took her back to their village and started some rural treatments. Gradually she got relief and she was fine after few months. Now since last few months she had pain and urinary problems with fever, she approached Lata Mangeshkar Hospital. After examining her. Dr B S Gedam mentioned mat it was an extrauterine pregnancy that's why she never delivered. Gradually the fluid might have been absorbed and the soft tissues liquefied and what remained only was a bag of bones with some fluid. Dr Md Yunus stated that the mass was densely adherent to the intestines and the urinary bladder.The operation lasted for almost 4 hours but with patience doctors could remove it completely. Dr Ranjana Deshmukli and her team managed the anaesthesia successfully. Patient recovered well. Dr M Akhtar. HoD surgery and Dr S Dasgupta Dean. NKPSIMS. congratulated the team.
