'Darshan wins one-act play contest

AVIDARBHA-LEVEL one-actplay

competition was organised on Independence Day to pay tributes lo freedom fighters. Ten organizations from Nagpur. Amravati, Akola. Wardha and Anjangaon Surji participated in the event titled 'Swatantrya Karandak'.

One act play 'Darshan' presented by Creaves. Amravati, bagged first prize in the competition. 'Arjun.com' (presented by Tanmay. Nagpur) and 'Manus Maaz Naaw (of Adwait, Amravati) were awarded second and third prizes respectively. The competition was organised jointly by Siddhi Ganesli Production and SA Academy at auditorium of Dr PDKV here.'

First and second prizes for best directors went to Saurabh Chinmalatpur and Abhijcet Muley for one act plays 'Darshan' and 'Arjun.com' respectively. Vishal Taral (Maanus Maaz Naav) and Ashish Hire (Catharsis) bagged first .iiul second prizes for acting.

Rupali Padhen (Atharava Unta) and Snehala Tayade (Mughalani Stta Daan Dili) were awarded best female actors. Award for best new writing was declared to Dr Lalit Nandurkar for her play titled 'Catharsis'. Vaibhav Nakshane (Settings). Atik Sahit (Lighting) and Dr Lalit Nadurkar (Background Music) were winners in other categories. Prof Arvind Kulkarni. Santosh Kate and Kamal Giri were judges for the event.   Prizes were  distributed ai the hands of MLA Govardhan Sharma in the presence of Corporators Harish Alimchandani. Rajeshwari Sharma and District President Prof Madhu Jadhav.

Sachin Giri conducted the function while Anjali Joshi proposed a vote of thanks. Prizes for best acting were sponsored by Swargiya Shantaram Jain Smrmi Pratishthan while writer-dramatist Balchandra Ukhalkar sponsored prize for best writing. Other on eact plays presented in the competition were 'Nakar Nakar' by Shivaji College. 'Rejection of Art' of Adwait, Amravati, 'Catharsis' of Anjangaon Surji, 'Muthabhar Chandanya (Proud Theatre. Akola. "Silent Scheme' by Adhyan Bharati, Wardha. 'Kaalbhm' ofRasikacharan. Nagpur. 'Atharava Unta' by Wedh Yuva, Akola and 'Mughalani Satta Daan Dili.' of Nagpur Mahavidyalaya.
